    FAQs

Doctors usually suggest knee replacement when arthritis gets so bad that pain won’t go away, even with medication and physiotherapy. If walking gets tough and your daily life feels limited, that’s when surgery comes into the picture.

Absolutely. A lot of people feel better with medication, physiotherapy, losing some weight, or getting joint injections. It depends on how bad things are, but surgery isn’t the only option.

Arthroscopy is a “keyhole” surgery—doctors use tiny tools and a camera to check out and fix problems with the ligaments or cartilage inside your joint. It’s much less invasive than open surgery.

These days, most knee implants last 15 to 20 years, sometimes longer. It depends on how active you are and your overall health.

Most people start walking again just a few days after surgery. Getting strength back with exercises usually takes somewhere between 6 and 12 weeks.

You might notice your joints feel stiff or swollen. Moving around hurts, and climbing stairs can turn into a real struggle.

If you’ve hurt your knee and now it’s swollen, feels wobbly, or you heard a pop when it happened, that’s a sign. It’s also tough to put weight on it.
